Welcome to ARCHITECTURE
CAREERS, an interactive guide to careers in architecture designed to assist
you in becoming an architect! It assists you in learning more about and
understanding the process of becoming an architect - a) education, b)
experience, and c) exam.
More than a
career resource, ARCHITECTURE CAREERS provides resources such as interviews
with working architects, links to valuable websites including architecture
programs, a suggested reading list, and an opportunity to question Dr.
Architecture, a self-proclaimed expert on the process of becoming an architect.

The Architecture
Careers site features the following sections:
Overview
- provides a snapshot overview on what architecture is, what an architect
does, preparation in becoming an architect, the critical steps of the
process - education, experience, and the exam.
Schools
- provides direct links to the accredited programs in architecture.
Careers
- provides an overview on the careers available to those pursuing a degree
in architecture; it goes beyond the traditional role within an architectural
firm.
Education
- provides sections on preparation prior to beginning an architectural
program, the process of selecting an architectural program, how to maximize
your architectural education, and links to the accredited programs.
Experience
- provides sections on career designing, gaining experience while as a
student and after graduation, internship (IDP), and an acronym for job
searching.
Examination
- provides information on the Architect Registraton Exam (ARE).
Interviews
-- provides interviews with architects in practice; be sure to check back
as interviews will be added periodically.
Resources
- provides links to the sponsors of the website, the professional associations
within the architecture profession, related professional associations,
and suggested reading.
